The nights were long and daytime prepared us for what was to come–once the sun went down. We fed ourselves creatures and pickings from the earth smoked over hot coals. Seal blubber insulated us like an electric blanket throughout night. But it wasn’t cold.

We went for a walk deep into the unknown. Strange sounds and unfamilar creatures assembled around us yet remained out of sight. But we knew they were there. We kept walking. Their presense made us cold. We were fortunate to have the seal blubber. We kept moving.

After infinite motion and laying dormant for years, we had finally reached the back of beyond.
